A Clean Suit

I did get the blessings, they are cool! I thought I told you that though?? Well, yea I got them, and they are really cool. I got the letter from Dad. As usual, it was terrific. I also loved Lindsey's letter. I hope she is doing good. Someone thought that there was something good in the letter and ripped a hole in the corner to steal whatever was inside, so I hope there was nothing in there! If you send a package you might have to put a cross on it or something.

That's good that the Last Chance has been fun, even though it hasn't been as good as last time. I am excited to go back when I get back. Dad was talkin about cuff links too? Do they ever get them in there? That would be cool. If you can, look for a french cuff shirt. I think I saw one last time made by nordstrom and it was the same type as my long sleeves (wrinkle free slim fit) so if you see it and its cheap, get it! And thanks for sending the tie, I am excited to see it!

I dry cleaned my suit FINALLY last week. I have been wearing it for 2 strait months. Nothing else. Oh and I got the super baggy pants tailored more so now the suit actually looks good! I did meet a monk though. From Vietnam (I run into SOO many Vietnamese people, I have picked up a few basic phrases and all their houses smell the same so I can identify if a house is a residence of Vietnamese people) This guy was 3rd in command below Budda. There is "the Buddah, the Shremlah, and me" we weren't allowed to touch him and had to bow whenever we looked at him. And it is customary to take your shoes and socks off when you enter a Vietnamese home. He was really nice though. I felt bad because he said he was never ever allowed to "love." He said "I have no love." Haha it was sad but kinda funny. How can you hold back such a natural and God-given emotion!??

I met another really interesting guy who could not accept the fact that on the cover of one of our pamphlets their is a picture of Jesus Christ, in this picture depicted as being a white man. He could NOT get over the fact that he thought we believed that He is white! He said, "he is probably black." The funny thing is, it doesn't even matter if He was pink, the important thing is what He did for us. That same day I went over to my favorite person in Louisiana's house, the lady whose house I ate at on Christmas. Her name is ___. Her husband is the guy that Dad would get along with (the laywer/likes books). But she is so funny! She has the most ridiculous facial expressions and to accompany them she has the most extreme Texan accent I have ever heard. She feeds us meals that are SOO good! She has the lessons memorized, but she still isn't a member. She thinks that our church shouldn't have kids running around during Sacrament, and that is what is holding her back. And she doesn't want to be with her family forever because she didn't really get along with them. But she feeds us and is really funny, and is slowly progressing, so we will continue to see her.

I really like the Brazilian member in our ward, Tania. She is so nice She makes us amazing Brazilian food and packages it all up and brings it over! Like twice a week! And she really wants to help me with Portuguese. She is from some random place in Brazil and was converted there. She has one kid and is probably around 45-50 years old. But she is way cool, I want to come back to see her when I actually speak Portuguese so that I can actually know what she is saying haha.

As I was reading my Gospel Principles book the other day I remembered how great our prayers were around Christmas time. Y'know, when we go and kneel in a circle by the Christmas tree? I miss that a lot, but it is just another fun, loved tradition I can look forward to continuing after my mission and throughout my life. I also remember the "good morning " song that you always sang to wake me up. You know how it goes. "good morning, good morning! Good morning morni morni morni morni morning!" Haha it helps me get up in the morning, so thanks. Someone gave a talk in church about family home evening. I remembered all the times we had family home evening and, even though we would often go a month or two without having one, I am so grateful for when we had them. Even if we only learned a little bit of gospel, the best part anyways was doing whatever we would do. See a movie, go to eat, etc. So keep it up Emily needs it! And I do too when I get home!

So this super baptist devout asked for a picture of us. We printed one out of us smiling, and gave it to her. She framed it and hung it on her wall! And she tells EVERYONE she sees about it! The other day we were teaching someone that lived down the street from her and she said, "hey, where is my picture? Shalala got one!" Haha so we printed one out for her.

So remember the lady that died and whose funeral I spoke at? I went over to her house to see how her kids were doing and they told me that they were really touched at my remarks at the funeral. That made me feel really good! They also gave me a huge plate of food, just as their mom did. They are good people. But I was wondering if when you send the pictures I could get a copy of that picture of Mike and Katie on the rock? On metallic paper or something? Katie knows what i'm talkin bout. Ask Mike if his friends ever talked in their mission languages to each other. I think there were at least 2 spanish speaking people. Ben Naylor went to Puerto Rico and I think tay wetzel went somewhere spanish? I can't remember. Also ask him how skiing is!

Well thats all I have for you this week, keep writing as often as you do! I need it! DONT FORGET to record jacobs farewell talk and to send it to me!! He leaves in like 2 weeks right? Crazy!!
Ok I love you and I miss you

Love you all

Alex
